SAVING VIA
This novel isn’t just about trauma. It’s about what comes after. It’s about:
•The slow, fragile climb back from the darkest places
•The silent but powerful healing presence of animals
•The love found in the most unexpected connections
•The resilience of women who’ve been through hell and still rise
The Story
Sylvia is a scarred rape survivor, Army veteran, and recovering addict grappling with the weight of PTSD. Haunted by her past and struggling to stay afloat, she finds an unexpected lifeline in Trigger, a battered bait dog with a fierce heart. Their bond becomes a quiet sanctuary for two broken souls helping each other heal.

But when Trigger dies, Sylvia is thrust back into grief and isolation. She isn’t ready for another companion until Lili, a skittish and traumatized rescue dog, enters her life. At first, Sylvia resists the connection, but everything changes when Lili performs a heroic act, saving a fellow veteran and his service dog from a raging fire. That single moment rekindles Sylvia’s sense of purpose and reminds her that even in loss, there can be new beginnings.

As Sylvia opens her heart again, she finds herself surrounded by an unlikely circle of misfits: a gentle mortuary owner, a fierce but wounded homeless woman, and others who, like her, are carrying invisible scars. Through these connections, she begins to rebuild not just her life but a new kind of family
